Coral Cottage is part of a recent Grade II Listed barn conversion at Budle Sands , in a spectacular position overlooking Budle Bay, just a couple of miles north of Bamburgh. The cottage has a sheltered garden with sea views over the bay, through tall trees towards Lindisfarne and Holy Island. Budle Bay is a haven for sea birds of many types. The tidal mudflats and saltmarshes of the bay provide an abundant food supply for the birds, some of which travel thousands of miles to breed before departing to their winter homes. The ancient Christian stronghold of Holy Island is a short drive. It is home to the Lindisfarne Gospels and can be reached at low tide by the causeway. Bamburgh Castle, beach and village are about 1.5 miles to the south by road or a little further by a coastal footpath.
