Situated in the small hamlet of Swinhoe, on the outskirts of Beadnell, it is handy for all the best beaches and the villages of Beadnell, Seahouses, Newton and Craster. Only 15 minutes drive to Alnwick Gardens and less than 10 mins drive to Bamburgh Castle With superb open views of the sea and Bamburgh Castle, the gardens, games room and childrens play area make it a popular choice with discerning families. Personally owned by us, this was our first holiday cottage and is one of our most popular in the collection. We have some regular guests who have had three or four holidays at Nook End! We have recently refurbished the kitchen in this cottage with simple off white Shaker style units, granite worktops and a new silver fridge freezer. We suggest you take a look at the 360 degree Virtual Tour of Nook End on our Virtual Tours page

Aydon Castle

nr Corbridge
One of the finest and most unaltered examples of a 13th-century English manor house, Aydon Castle stands in a secluded woodland setting. It was originally built as an undefended residence, but almost immediately fortified on the outbreak of Anglo-Scottish warfare. Nevertheless it was pillaged and burnt by the Scots in 1315, seized by English rebels two years later, and again occupied by Scots in 1346. In the 18th century Aydon became a farmhouse, remaining so until 1966.
