Bamboo is our one bedroom apartment (we have two) in this architecturally exciting seafront development of luxury harbourside boltholes, @ The Viking. Designed to state-of-the-art Scandinavian specifications using timber stone and slate to harmonise with the surrounding coastal architecture, The Viking building offers contemporary apartment accommodation unrivalled on the Northumberland coast. All of our apartments @ The Viking have been awarded a 5 star grade by the English Tourism Council/VisitBritain for 2009 Situated on the second floor, Bamboo offers guests open-plan living accommodation with a balcony off the living area. The decor marries hot pinks and duck egg blues with natural linen tones and textures, using fabrics from Designers Guild and Osbourne and Little giving the apartment a contemporary, luxurious feel and a definite 'wow' factor. Internally the furnishings meet the highest of specifications throughout, with the added convenience of private parking,stair and lift access and the use of a communal seafront garden. The interior scheme has been put together by well respected Bernhart Interiors in conjunction with Coastal Retreats. Free unlimited use of the nearby Ocean Leisure Club is given to all Bamboo guests so, whatever the weather, you can swim, spa and soak all day!

Coral Cottage is part of a recent Grade II Listed barn conversion at Budle Sands , in a spectacular position overlooking Budle Bay, just a couple of miles north of Bamburgh. The cottage has a sheltered garden with sea views over the bay, through tall trees towards Lindisfarne and Holy Island. Budle Bay is a haven for sea birds of many types. The tidal mudflats and saltmarshes of the bay provide an abundant food supply for the birds, some of which travel thousands of miles to breed before departing to their winter homes. The ancient Christian stronghold of Holy Island is a short drive. It is home to the Lindisfarne Gospels and can be reached at low tide by the causeway. Bamburgh Castle, beach and village are about 1.5 miles to the south by road or a little further by a coastal footpath. Please note that we have yet to load images on this page as we are still refurbishing Coral Cottage in time for its opening in May 2009.
